Culture & Climate Assessment

OBJECTIVE

Complete a baseline assessment of the organization’s culture regarding equity, equality, and inclusion among different diverse segments of the workforce (race/ethnicity, LGBQT, People with Disabilities, etc.) to identify what behaviors, programs, processes and/or policies that needed to be improved to increase workforce diversity, engagement, retention and performance.

SOLUTION

Talmetrix conducted three work streams to get relevant insight into the culture.

  • Human Capital Data Review: Reviewed three years of human capital data including workforce demographics, hiring & attrition, promotions and internal mobility, , and program participation (learning & development, employee resource groups, employee volunteering) metrics.
  • Qualitative Culture Insights: Conducted one-on-one and focus group interviews with a representative diverse group of employees to capture input regarding the experience, culture and climate.
  • Quantitative Culture Insights: Fielded our D&I Climate assessment with additional custom questions based on insights captured from the human capital review and 1:1 interviews.

OUTPUT

Talmetrix delivered actionable results and insights into what factors are driving (and detracting from) the organization’s culture regarding diversity, equity, equality and inclusion. We also generated persona profiles for the various diverse segments of the workforce to humanize all the data captured to inform targeted engagement and retention strategies and actions for the specific population.

Benefits Assessment

OBJECTIVE

Understand the value, participation, and impact of current benefits programs and potential new or revised benefit offerings.

  • Are our employee benefits driving attraction, retention, and engagement of employees?
  • Are our top performing employees participating in our benefits programs?
  • Are there employee benefits that we haven’t implemented?

SOLUTION

  • Human Capital Data Review: Review 5 years of human capital data with a cross-section of benefits participation by demographic, hire date, attrition, mobility, time & attendance, program participation, and previous culture survey data.
  • Benefits Assessment: Field a 30 question custom benefits assessment to current employees with a focus on rank ordering benefits by value and importance to the participant.

OUTPUT

Talmetrix delivered actionable insights into which current benefits programs were delivering business value and which required modifications, including a recommendation for an evolution of the benefits program to be more valuable to employees while driving retention and performance.

DEI/CSR Scorecards

OBJECTIVE

Provide leaders with quarterly reports and insights to improve diversity representation of new hires, promotions, and turnover, and the diversity inclusion in key talent development (i.e., formal mentoring) and corporate social responsibility (i.e., employee volunteering) programs. The scorecard needed to track representation and inclusion by race/ethnicity, gender, LGBTQ, People with Disabilities, and Veterans.

SOLUTION

Talmetrix conducted two workstreams to get relevant insight into the organization’s efforts.

  • Data Aggregation & Transformation: Aggregated and processed (11) disparate data files containing workforce demographic, hiring & attrition, promotions & internal mobility, and program participation data for employee resource groups, employee giving, employee volunteering, and national days of service) relative to external benchmark data.
  • Scorecard Design & Publishing: Configured, audited, and mapped data on a quarterly basis to create easy to read and digestible scorecards to inform strategy, communications, and action planning at the leader and enterprise-level.

OUTCOME

Talmetrix delivered a quarterly scorecard with actionable insights into the diversity and inclusion of related talent life cycle stages, programs, and processes that influence corporate citizenship, engagement, development, and retention.

Benchmark Assessments

OBJECTIVE

Design and administer a national assessment to benchmark organizations’ workforce representation, programs, policies, practices, and outcomes.

SOLUTION

Talmetrix conducted three workstreams to produce actionable insights for each of the organization’s participants.

  • Assessment Design: Partnered with the client to evolve the design of the assessment to improve validity and reliability of the assessment and the value derived from the report and insights.
  • Assessment Administration: Managed activities related to programming user experience to complete the assessment, data integrity, scoring methodology, report card design, and publishing.
  • Assessment Analysis & Insights: Conducted correlation, comment theme, and trend analyses to provide the client with in-depth insights to inform best practices correlated with talent outcomes (hiring, promotions, and turnover).

OUTCOME

The client saw an increase in the number of organizations completing the assessment and increased value gained from the assessment, benchmarks, and best practices.

Program Audit

OBJECTIVE

Conduct a program review and audit of 13 leadership pipeline development programs to assess diversity representation, inclusion, and talent outcomes over a three year period. The goal was to identify opportunities to increase the level of representation and inclusion for traditional under-represented populations (i.e., women of color) segments in the company.

SOLUTION

Talmetrix conducted three workstreams to get relevant insights into each of the programs audited.

  • Data Aggregation & Processing: Created a data warehouse to process and catalog all human capital metrics and program roster data to power in-depth segmentation, analyses, and data visualization tools
  • Qualitative & Quantitative Data Analyses: Reviewed and calculated multivariate statistical analyses determine the overall equity and program effectiveness for all programs
  • Identification & Reporting: Identified actionable next steps that the organization took to align each programs’ initiatives to improve diversity and inclusion related outcomes.

OUTCOME

Talmetrix delivered a filterable dashboard to provide relevant data and outcomes for each program and the participant cohorts. Additionally, we provided a summary of key insights and recommendations the organization should prioritize to improve the diversity and inclusion representation and associated outcomes for the identified programs.
